Slot Machine Etiquette

Slot Machines do not require human interaction but that does not mean that etiquette isn't required when playing them. You still need to be mindful of your fellow players.

There are two sides to every story and you should be mindful of the other person's feelings if you are the person asking or are the person being asked. Either way, there is no need to be rude or raise your voice.

When there is money involved, people's tempers can easily be frayed and just remember that no-one wants to be 'that guy' or 'that girl'.

Anyhow here is slot machine etiquette you should be mindful of when playing the slots.

Machines are being reserved

Usually a cup on the slot machine or on the chair in front of the slot machine indicates that the slot machine is being played by someone but that person is currently away.

If you are the player who is away from the slot machine you should return as quick as possible to it from wherever you have gone.

Playing multiple slot machines simultaneously

Players love to do this. Obviously in down times this isn't an issue but in busy and peak times it is. If it is busy and you are playing two or more slot machines at once and someone else wants to play - do the right thing and stop playing one of the slot machines.

Excuse me, is that seat taken?

If you are playing the slot machines and have someone with you who is sitting down but isn't playing, or you are the person sitting down. If someone comes along and wants to play that slot machine and sit down, that person should get up.

Lost property

If you sit down at a slot machine and find that the previous player has left behind something, then just place it on top of the slot machine. The player will come back, find it there and be most thankful.
